What a session with me looks like

The birth chart is a map of your life. Understanding your own birth chart is an important step towards healing the parts of yourself that have felt unseen, misunderstood or challenging. Seeing ourselves more clearly through the birth chart is also a way of becoming ourselves more fully. Sometimes this can be an uncomfortable process, sometimes it takes time to grow into our authentic selves. But everything you are supposed to be is already inside of you. It’s right there for you to uncover and explore. ⁣

My job is an astrologer is to create a safe space for you to explore the issues you’re dealing with currently in relation to your birth chart, and to guide you towards your own inner wisdom and potential. The story of your birth chart is something we create together, as we combine the astrological symbolism of your birth chart with your insights and the reality of your own lived experience, in order to come to a deeper and more meaningful understanding of your life and your unique gifts and challenges.

All sessions take place online, via the video conferencing application Zoom.

Below you can find some information about the different types of astrology consultations I currently offer. I offer sliding scale to folks who are are financially disenfranchised because of their skin colour, sexual orientation, gender identification, religion, and any other form of discrimination and bigotry. If you fall into one or more of these categories, please reach out to me before booking a session to discuss sliding scale options. Please note that I am on extended maternity leave between October 2021 and the early spring of 2022, and won’t be taking any new bookings after 1 October 2021.

As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul

Frequently asked questions

How does a consultation work?

If you want to book a consultation, check my offerings above and choose what type of reading you want to have. You can set a date and time that works for you. You’ll also be asked to submit the intake form with some questions, which helps me prepare for your consultation and ensures your expectations about our session are met. Payment can be done via Paypal or Creditcard. I also offer iDeal for Dutch clients, please message me for more info about that. We meet at the time you selected to go over your chart and the interpretation. A consultation with me tends to be a conversation where you share what you’re currently going through, or areas of life you’re looking to clarify, and I use your birth chart to guide you toward potential directions or answers. Your consultation will take place via Zoom. The session will be recorded and sent to you afterwards, so you can revisit the consultation anytime you want. You’ll also receive a digital copy of your birth chart.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellation of a session can only be done via email. Canceling via social media is not possible. Appointments can be rescheduled or canceled free of charge and with full refund up to 24 hours prior to the session. Cancellations or changes received after this deadline are not eligible for a refund. No-shows are not eligible for a refund unless there is a valid reason (force majeure / calamities). I reserve the right to refuse future services for repeated transfers and no-shows.

I want to start learning about astrology. Where do I start? Are there any books, podcasts or apps you recommend?

It’s easiest to start learning astrology by looking more deeply into your own birth chart. Start by learning the function of the planets, given that they bring all of the potential, power and energy to the chart. The astrological houses, signs and aspects exist to help understand the unique version of a particular planet that you may have in your chart. In terms of books and other resources, I highly recommend reading You Were Born For This by Chani Nicholas. Chani also has an app (called CHANI) which is fabulous. If you want to get a more intuitive sense of the signs and planets, I recommend The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest. Once you get a better sense of the terms and concepts used in astrology, check out some episodes by The Astrology Podcast, one of my all-time favourite podcasts.

Why do you need my exact birth time?

Your birth time determines precisely where the horizon was at the time of your birth. This sign that was rising on the eastern horizon is your Ascendant, which is an essential part of your birth chart and lets you know what your direction in life is. Another important placement in your chart that is decided by your exact birth time is the Midheaven, which is the point that reflects your career or vocation. Lastly, given that the Moon moves approximately 12-14 degrees per day, knowing your exact birth time makes a huge difference for your chart and impacts how effective and precise a birth chart reading is.

Can you predict my future?

I am not a psychic and I don’t (currently) specialise in predictive astrology. However, I do use some timing techniques (transits, annual profections and secondary progressions) that can help you get a sense of how the planets move through your natal chart and impact your life. Looking at transits can give you a sense of which planets have been making your life harder or easier, and can also give you an idea of what’s in store for you the next year. I use the technique of annual profections to organise and prioritise transits according to which house topics are most important to you and which planets in a natal chart are activated during a given time period. I’m currently only offering these timing techniques in combination with a birth chart consultation.

How long have you been studying astrology?

I’ve been familiar with my own chart since I was a child, but I’ve been seriously studying astrology for 4+ years. Like many professional astrologers, I’ve gained a lot of knowledge from countless hours of self-study and practical application. In 2020 I enrolled in Kelly Surtees’ Becoming an Astrologer programme.

Who are your teachers?

My main teacher at this point is Kelly Surtees, but I’ve also learned from Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, Judith Hill, Steven Forrest, and many other professional astrologers.

What house system and zodiac do you use?

I practice western, tropical astrology with a mix of mainly traditional astrology and some elements of evolutionary & psychological astrology. Concretely, this means I read charts using whole sign house system and using traditional rulership, but in my interpretation I like to integrate some of the psychological insights from modern astrology.

What are your own placements?

I’m a Scorpio rising and Cancer Sun, with Mars & Venus conjunct in Virgo.
