There are a lot of cool and exciting (traditional) astrology events happening in the US, with the Fresh Voices in Astrology seminars and of course NORWAC, but partaking in these events is not only crazy expensive for non-US inhabitants, it also doesn’t make a lot of sense to invest in a community on the other side of the world when you’re based in the Netherlands. Yet similar astrology events aren’t really happening on this side of the ocean. For that reason, I started Astro Cafe together with a group of other traditional and modern astrologers in the Netherlands, as a way to create a community of astrologers and share knowledge with other astrology enthusiasts in the Netherlands.
The origin story of Astro Cafe
Around the time of the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in April of 2022, I shared my dream of organising a European conference for young astrologers. I put out a call on social media to see if anyone of my colleagues would be interested in helping organise this event, and I got several enthusiastic responses. By the time Jupiter separated, however, we all realised that a conference would maybe be a teeny tiny bit ambitious at this point.
So after a initial brainstorming session with the people who were interested, we decided to organise something smaller and more accessible. This is how the idea of Astro Cafe was born, and we are delighted to invite you to our first edition!
First edition: Making sense of Mars retrograde
Our first edition of Astro Cafe is taking place on 19 November from 14:00 to 16:00 at Cafe de Ruimte in Amsterdam. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of connecting with other astrology enthusiasts, geeking about astrology, and sharing stories to bring astrology alive and learn how the language of the stars applies to your life.
In this first edition we’ll discuss the Mars in Gemini retrograde of 2022, one of the main astrology events of the year that colours the remainder of 2022 and sets the tone for the beginning of 2023. We’ll go over the meaning of Mars retrograde in general, this cycle in particular and how to assess when a retrograde cycle is relevant for you, and we’ll share some stories of past Mars retrograde experiences to illustrate how a Mars retrograde can manifest in someone’s life. If you have any stories you want to share about (past or current) Mars retrogrades, feel free to send them in beforehand.
The cover charge to attend the meeting is €7,50. There’s a limited amount of space available so make sure to get your ticket as soon as possible. After payment you’ll receive a confirmation of your registration that will count as your entrance ticket. You’ll also receive a short questionnaire a few weeks beforehand so we can gauge what level of astrology fluency you’re at and for you to submit any Mars retrograde stories you want to share during our gathering. Buy your ticket here.
Can’t make it to this edition?
No worries! We’re planning to make this a recurring event with lots of exciting topics to discuss. We’ll keep you posted on any future editions below.
